Missed most of Les Stentors - though the bit I saw was of course was novice in nature - but it was well done and the show seemed well thought out - Kudos to the small group from our North and hopefully they will continue to grow - we need a Canadian Corps again!! -
Colt Cadets - Journey Within - I think this is the second time or third time I have seen them and they are much improved. Good for them!!! Smile is a particularly nice moment. The students in this group really seem more of cadet age than of say some of the "B" corps and that is great getting these young people involved. Really well thought out show conceptually with theme and music - Nice job Cadets!
Impulse -Music Is - Seems like a nice little corps - well actually not too little - They could use some more color guard - but they are quite adequate - Some really clever ideas - beautiful dreamer is really cute - music is a lot of things - but it is what it makes you feel - nice - students handle visual proficiency pretty well - This was really a nice little show for an Open Class corps!
Shadow - Oregon, WI - This Mortal Coil - I like the guard uniforms - props are cool - seem to be having some difficulties - an Open Class corps with World class design - Nice color palette - Ballad was really nice - drum solo was cool with the coils - some of the visual
l proficiency needs some work - Nice colors guard too - not over written work - given me my first goose bumps of the day - A really nice show!!!
River City Rhythm - Shimmer - I think this was the corps I applied to work with in the administrative area - saw this group earlier this season - already see many many changes and improvements - show moves so much better - visual proficiency is still a problem in many places - orange skirts certainly shimmer - they have a massive gazing globe - pretty blue flag at the end - Very nice ending with the streamers coming out of the globe - Nice show -
The Guardians - Radioactive - I have seen them many times too and it already looks quite a bit better - I like the radioactive coats the guard wears - visual proficiency today has not been a really strong point for them - but a far better developed show than what I saw weeks ago -
It breaks my heart to see so few people in the stands for these corps - they work so hard too !!!!!!
The Raiders - Industrial Evolution - I forgot that Jersey has 2 corps :-) - Not a bad sound for a small group - the ballad is really pretty - I really liked the very simple costumes and the changes - really nice and on a dime :-)
Louisiana Star - I have to leave - so I won't get much of reading on this show - but it too looks better than when I saw it last -

Beautiful sound I wish I had seen the whole show - can't get over how much better they are now even and I thought they were pretty special then - really like the costume change too - wow that end was pretty freaking intense - Great show really - That was a really a very World Class show ! Congrats!!!
Legends - cool opening sounds - I really like the blue flags in the ballad - really pretty - geez don't often see a cymbal drop - and believe me those cymbals were in the air! that was not just any cymbal toss - I can't believe the height they had on those cymbals - good rifle line - very cool with the lights on everything like SCV last year - very cool - so this is another - another Open lass that looks a lot more World!
SCV Cadets - Unfortunately I missed the title of the show because of a phone call - I really like this rendition of Pines of Rome - comparatively speaking - holy God there color guard is amazing - no surprise but - wow - I see they are all wearing a Tat sleeve - now that is just cool - Goose bumps on the piano moment - just beautiful - Already sound like the Vanguard World - what an amazing show - goose bums when the cymbals made the V and goose bumps when the crowd yelled Vanguard - Just awesome stuff
Blue Devils B - To the Moon - Open Class Champs 2016 - good show and I understand why they won - I just prefer the Vanguard Cadets show - But this show is really amazing - kids are phenomenal and so was the show concept and idea - Congrats again to the B Crew for winning the Open Class
Pioneer - St. Joan of Arc - I get the angel thing but .... ah and it lights up - my gut suggests that this could have been their last performance of the year - I hope not - I don't like being right - I know they work really hard !!!!
Jersey Surf - Ebb & Flow - Let's have a good one!! The guard looks like little seas sprites :-) Yay!!! One of the best you have had all season - Wow has the show grown and improved - The color guard has really grown over the season - Kudos!!! - So sad for this group - they barely missed the top 25 - but that is really amazing - not sure how they have done in the past - but to be just short of the top 25 is quite an accomplishment of which this group should be very proud!
Seattle Cascades - "O" - Love the O vocal after slower part - Annie Lennox sounding ;-) - nice end of drum solo - Man this is another show that just keeps getting better every time I see it - Wow Cascades- that was one awesome show - goose bumps at the end - well done!
Pacific Crest - The Union - love the hammers and they handle them sooooooo well - I still remember being in Denver in 2003 and some of their parents were staying at the same hotel as I was and they were so excited about their corps and their kids! Man what a train ride you have been on this season - it is so wonderful to see sooooo much growth in a season - a real comfort - ease - and pride in what you are doing and have accomplished - KUDOS to all of you!!!!
Spirit of Atlanta - Georgia - OMG 4 guard not marching and one in a wheel chair - what the heck??? Nice show Spirit - well done - From beginning to end - nicely done!
Oregon Crusaders - Now the blue guy is in the beginning - so the guy in the blue is the hunter? and he is hunting everyone else - especially the girl in the long flowey thing - These corps uniforms are tragic with the visual proficiency man - you just see errors - now the trees are hunting the hunter? I think that is fur on her skirt so maybe she is the animal - which is what I kind of thought all along - but now the animal has a whip ? You know how some shows get better and more understandable - well I am so sad to say this was not one - It is clear though you are doing something right that a drum corps dummy like me does not see or get - so I am glad for you for that !!!!
Mandarin - Sadly did not see much of their show - as was getting ready for an appointment - they sound pretty good and what I did see looked really great.
Students you blow my mind - The hard work - the sacrifices - All of you are winners - To those not moving on - good luck with your futures and whatever you decide to do with your lives and drum corps and color guard. I know that your lies are richer for your experience this summer! To those who are going to end up Drumcorpse Brides or Grooms - Best wishes with your auditions for next year!!!!!!!
